Save the date for our annual winter community concert & Young Artists Showcase. Merchandise will be on hand for purchase. A $10 donation or more is encouraged to help the SGS continue to bring these important events to our community. Doors will open at 3:00pm for this event.
Our Young Artist Showcase for 2022 will feature solo guitar performances by:
Miran Velagic

Miran Velagic is 14 years old and began his guitar studies at the age of 7, studying with local guitarist and instructor Michael Silva. He continues to be a member of the Davis Community Guitar Orchestra and has performed with them since its inception. When the pandemic halted live music he participated in the SGS Virtual Guitar Orchestra never missing a chance to perform and continue his love of playing. He has participated in the Day of Giving at the Davis Senior Center performing ensemble and solo music. Miran finds great joy in playing for others and sharing the guitar’s wonderful repertoire with others.

Kaytlin LeBar-Triepke is 13 years old and started learning the ukulele at the age of 5. She soon traded the ukulele for classical guitar and has not looked back. She was a member of the Davis Community Guitar Orchestra and has also participated in all of the SGS Virtual Guitar Orchestra projects. Currently, much of Kaytlin’s time is focused on playing Fast-pitch softball where she plays in a championship team all over the state. When she is not playing guitar or playing in softball tournaments she enjoys learning about biology and walking dogs.

Andrew will be performing two selections from Agustin Barrios Mangoré.

Andrew began his guitar studies at the age of 8. He has been a member of the Sacramento Guitar Society since he began his studies and has greatly benefited from being a part of the Guitar Orchestra. He began his studies with Jeanne Johnson and is currently under the instruction of Scott Cmiel. Recent competitions include the NEC Boston Guitar Fest/2nd place, the US International Music Competition/3rd place, and Great Composers Art of Strings/ 1st place. In addition, he and his sister Aden were awarded as NPR fellows and broadcast on NPR’s From the Top. Andrew enjoys playing at various benefit concerts such as Habitat for Humanity & Shriner’s Children’s Hospital.

Sydney Goodall, 17, has studied classical guitar with Sean O’Connor since 2013. Along with her lessons, she can frequently be found performing at local shops and
venues on the weekends. When she’s not practicing her instrument, Sydney enjoys competing in coding, cybersecurity, and robotics competitions with her school teams.
